The Critical Last Mile of Sustainable Swimwear
Closing the microplastic loop in swimwear manufacturing.
For decades, international swimwear brands have faced an unaddressed paradox: crafting high-end swimsuits from recycled ocean plastics such as ECONYL® regenerated nylon or REPREVE® polyester, only to affix a single-use virgin PVC or polyethylene hygiene sticker directly onto the intimate crotch gusset lining. When consumers peel off these conventional plastic stickers, three persistent failures occur: microplastics enter the municipal waste stream, harsh synthetic adhesives leave an unremovable gummy film that ruins expensive elastane fabrics, and the brand’s ethical narrative collapses.
At Balidao Swimwear Co., Ltd., we pioneered an integrated manufacturing solution. Founded in 2014 and operating from our solar-powered facility in Bali, we engineered certified biodegradable swimwear hygiene liners that match rigorous retail sanitation codes without compromising oceanic integrity. Utilizing plant-derived Polylactic Acid (PLA), sustainably harvested wood cellulose, and food-grade water-based bio-resins, our liners break down cleanly into organic matter without eco-toxicity.
Global procurement teams and boutique founders no longer need to sacrifice operational efficiency for green credentials. Every batch of custom or Ready Design swimwear produced at our factory can be seamlessly outfitted with bespoke, residue-free, compostable hygiene liners right at the final quality control and packaging stage.
